WHAT IS RAW HONEY?

Our raw honey is a superfood on its own and is a natural supplement to help create a well balanced lifestyle Our honey is the perfect way to add wellness to your favorite drinks or snacks

Honey has been known to provide health benefits for centuries Honey also serves as a natural source of protein, B complex vitamins, magnesium, essential fatty acids, and vitamins A, C, and E, without additives or preservatives

Raw honey is best described as honey “as it exists in the beehive” It is extracted from the beehive, strained and poured straight into the bottle, bypassing commercial processing methods Raw honey is only strained before it's bottled, which means it retains most of the beneficial nutrients and antioxidants that it naturally contains

WHAT BENEFITS DO THE DIFFERENT FLAVORS OFFER?

Besides honey’s delicious sweet flavor, it offers many health benefits Rich in antioxidants, it’s also antibacterial, antimicrobial, helps in healing wounds, boosts your immune system and can help with allergies and digestive disorders

  • Sourwood - Sourwood honey tastes like buttery caramel, much like gingerbread Sourwood is natural honey from the Appalachian mountains near Asheville, NC Sought after by honey connoisseurs, this honey can’t be produced just anywhere due to the scarcity of sourwood trees Sourwood is renowned for helping allergy symptoms, for being antimicrobial and full of antioxidants Light, sticky, velvety and warm - this is a seasonal honey With the reputation of being one of the “best honeys in the world”, Sourwood is sure to be a fan fav!
  • Wildflower - This 100% pure wildflower honey is carefully harvested for its coveted floral sweetness and caramel color This honey is the foundation for all of our whipped and infused honeys and makes the perfect addition to any kitchen pantry Add to your morning smoothie Make an easy parfait by layering yogurt, honey, granola and fresh fruit Replace maple syrup on pancakes and waffles Spread over fresh grapefruit or grapefruit sections broil until just bubbly

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAW AND REGULAR HONEY?

Once strained, raw honey is ready to bottle and consume Raw honey contains a wide variety of nutrients It has approximately 22 amino acids, 31 different minerals and a wide range of vitamins and enzymes What’s most impressive about raw honey is that it contains nearly 30 types of bioactive plant compounds These are called polyphenols, and they act as antioxidants Many studies have linked these antioxidants with impressive health benefits, including reduced inflammation and a lower risk of heart disease and certain cancers

Commercial honey involves several more steps before its bottled such as pasteurization and filtration Pasteurization destroys the yeast and pollen found in Honey by applying high heat Some manufacturers add sugar or sweetness to honey to reduce costs

Raw and regular honey differ mainly in how they are processed Raw honey contains pollen, may be more nutritious and does not have any added sugars or sweeteners, both of which may be present in commercial honeys

WHY IS YOUR RAW HONEY DIFFERENT COLORS?

All honeys are not created equal! If you've only tried the honey you find in bear-shaped bottles, you my friend are in for a real treat! Like wine, a honey's flavor can vary dramatically depending on when it was made, the region it came from, and the type of flowers and trees that fed its hive

Raw, small batch honey varies in color and flavor from season to season and hive to hive This depends on the bees and the type of flowers they forage The resulting honey may be lighter or darker, more floral or sweet or less sweet in taste Our honey intentionally allows for these variations Honey and wine are very similar in that they take on the characteristics of the area that they are produced This is the beauty and wonder of raw and natural honey!

You won’t find this with store bought honey since it is a blend of different honeys from many areas from many different hives and is quite often cut with syrup and filtered

WHY HAS MY HONEY CRYSTALLIZED?

It is a natural part of the process! We do not high pressure pasteurize our honey It is taken from the hive and full of goodness and is not cut with syrup

IS RAW HONEY SAFE FOR INFANTS?

While raw honey is safe for healthy adults, it can be dangerous for infants It may contain spores of the bacteria Clostridium botulinum, which can grow in the gut of developing infants
